Mocs Roll Past Reinhardt at the Roundhouse

The Chattanooga Mocs head into their Christmas break with a .500 record, thanks to Tuesday afternoon’s 59-point win over Reinhardt College.

The Eagles, an NAIA team out of the Atlanta area, actually led a few times in the first half of the nooner at the Roundhouse.

But when Jeff Smith nailed a three-pointer seven minutes into the first half, the Mocs had a lead they would not relinquish.

By halftime the Mocs had built up a 28 point lead.  The outcome was never in doubt as they kept adding to that lead in the second half.

All 11 of the Mocs played in today’s game… all 11 of them scored, and all 11 of them had at least one rebound.

Ricky Taylor led the way with a season-high 21 points.

Chris Early had a big game, scoring 17 points and pulling down a dozen rebounds for his first double-double of the season.

Troy Cage scored a career high 14 points, Omar Wattad and Jahmal Burroughs scored 11 apiece as the Mocs roll to a 107-48 win.

That was the Mocs 4th win in their last 5 games, which evens their overall record at 6-6.

They’ll a few days off now for Christmas before returning to the Roundhouse for next week’s annual Dr. Pepper Classic.

Georgia State takes on Texas AM-Corpus Christi at 4:30 on December 29th, the Mocs face Montreat College at 7.
