Gordon Brown, the leading candidate the new IMF chief

Everyone was asking, who will become the new chairman of the International Monetary Fund (IMF)? The question was raised as of June 2012; Strauss-Khan’s tenure will end. Moreover, Strauss-Khan is currently planning to follow the French presidential election, so the possibility he would step down earlier. The issue also emerged about who would be a substitute for Strauss-Kahn. One of the strongest candidates is Gordon Brown, former UK prime minister.

In fact, Gordon Brown now is attending a conference of economic policymakers at Bretton Woods in New Hampshire, where the IMF was established symbolically. In an interview with American television, a clear possibility of Gordon Brown became the new chairman of the IMF. “Brown is the obvious candidate,” a source said last night.

But Gordon Brown is not without problems. In the UK he has come under fire because his legacy of a broken banking system and a fiscal deficit that exceeds £ 150billion. However, last week, he manly admitted his guilt for letting the banking crisis in the UK is growing. However, Gordon Brown said that not only him who is guilty, there are also others who are guilty, although he did not name these people.

If Gordon Brown managed to become the new IMF head, then he’s getting limousine facilities, first class travel, and the IMF Club membership in Virginia. And that cannot be forgotten, he will get a salary of £ 270,000 a year.

Although, Gordon Brown is a strong candidate become the new chairman of the IMF. However, he has a powerful competitor. The competitor is George Osborne; he is a man who blames Gordon Brown for the current Government’s terrible economic and fiscal inheritance. It is interesting to waiting to see who will become the new chairman of the IMF.
