Atlanta Falcons got Julio Jones

2011 NFL Draft is giving a little surprise with the inclusion of Julio Jones to the Atlanta Falcons. The wide receiver (WR) is expected to increase the attacking power of the Atlanta Falcons, as desired by Falcons coach Mike Smith.

“It was an aggressive and bold move to trade up for player that we believe truly adds the explosiveness that we are looking for on this team,” said Thomas Dimitroff, general manager of Atlanta Falcons. “We feel that Julio is a fine addition to our offense. We think that he’ll help provide Matt [Ryan] with the tools we need going forward,” he added.

This option is not done in vain, for the Atlanta Falcons have made the consideration for more than a month. From these considerations, they said Julio Jones is the most appropriate figure.

Julio Jones is projected to be a partner of Roddy White, a Pro Bowl WR of the Atlanta Falcons. Roddy White last season managed to make 115 catches, most in the NFL. Atlanta Falcons this time cannot be retained some of their picks and included players in a deal. This is caused by the current labor situation.

“That’s been the most innovating side of this because you are obviously trying to come up with compensation that is fair,” Thomas Dimitroff said. “You had to really drill down and become that much more focused on how you were going to put together the compensation package,” he added.
